The Diocesan Poverty Relief Fund was established by Bishop Lawrence E. Brandt in December 2009 to allow for better support of local organizations in the Diocese of Greensburg that completely accept and promote the mission of the Catholic Church in their care for the poor and needy. Since the March 2020 cycle, the Poverty Relief Fund has distributed a total of $483,986 in grants.
